Etsy shop紹介: Gretchenmist

本日は、オーストラリア在住アーティスト、Belinda Kempのショップ、Gretchenmistをご紹介しよう。絵画だけでなく、オリジナルの生地やカード、その他紙製品などのデザインも手がけている。

(1) 自己紹介をお願いします。

I am Belinda {Kemp} and I'm an artist/designer and a mother of two small boys. I live in Melbourne, Australia. I work from home on my art and fabric design. I spent my childhood in small country towns but have lived in the city for my adult life. I love coffee, good food, swimming, reading, movies . . .

アーティスト/デザイナーのベリンダ・ケンプです。オーストラリア・メルボルン在住で、二人の幼い息子の母親でもあります。自宅で、絵とテキスタイル・デザインに取り組んでいます。田舎育ちですが、大人になってからは都会で暮らしています。コーヒー、おいしい食べ物、水泳、読書、映画が好きです。




(2) アーティストになられたきっかけは？

The desire to do something creative, with my hands, and of my own wishes has always been there. I tried doing other things but never felt satisfied. Making art is part of who I am.

自分の手を使って、気の向くままにクリエーティブなことをしたいという思いは常にありました。
他の仕事をやってみたこともありますが、満足感は得られませんでした。
アートは、私の一部なのです。


(3) これまでの作品の中で、最も気に入っているものは？

This acrylic painting on wood is my favourite so far, maybe because it's one of my most recent and makes me want to paint more: 'Mist garden':

木の上にアクリルで描いたこの作品です。最近の作品である上、もっと絵を描きたくなる気持ちにさせてくれるからかもしれません。「ミスト・ガーデン」

Leah Giberson, Brandi Strickland, Marise Maas, Betsy Walton ~ I have so many favourites and am inspired by artists online nearly every day!
